BACKSTORY

early lifeNao Aizawa was born on July 8th 2004, Yokohama Japan.Being the child of a single mother who worked double shifts and the grandchild of a retired kick boxer, who never retired his discipline and due to this while other kids were playing, drawing and living regular lives Nao was learning self-defence and non-lethal takedowns incase she ever found herself in a situation that couldn't be settled via words.By the time Nao turned ten, they'd added Muay Thai, embracing its rhythm, balance, and controlled aggression. they weren’t just a natural — they were obsessed. Hours of pad work, bruised shins, endless drills. This was part of her routine; arrive home, eat, go to the gym, run drills and sharpen up her techniques. To unknowing people this seemed rather cruel to do to a child, taking away freedom and replacing it with routine? Regardless of what onlookers rumoured or talked about... Nao was dedicated to reaching the same level as their grandfather, if not hoping to surpass him.It wasn't entirely strict training for Nao, when they had their rest days their grandfather would show her tapes and records of AJW, AJPW and NJPW. This was something that impacted the way that Nao perceived Puroresu... the way the athletes were able to capture peoples attention with their charisma and perseverance to overcome their opponent's onslaught to secure the victory. watching these tapes strengthened the bond with their grandfather, making her all the more determined...Soon it didn't become about using her martial arts for self-defence... it was about using what she knew and trying to incorporate it in her dreams of becoming a superstar!high school lifeHigh School was where Nao's early start in martial arts kicked in, they joined their school's football team, excelling as the main striker. When Nao wasn't on the pitch, in the gym or watching Puroresu between periods they were rather quiet and independent, doing their coursework and being an all-round stand up student.but one day, it went the same as every other day previously... Nao started to catch glimpses of a student they didn't remember seeing before... that student? none other than Emi Misaki. They couldn't put it into words how they felt about Emi... it was... complicated, they didn't do anything wrong to Nao...yet. They let these feelings simmer down until the two were put into the same subjects and eventually the same sports... Oh, Nao finally found the words to describe Emi : "cheater", "slimy", "disrespectful" almost everything that Nao wasn't. was it faith that They would cross paths? Possibly...Near the end of her High School life their distain for one another was very palpable, a glare or sly comment from Emi were enough to spark the fighting spirit in them both... Nao, eventually graduated and began training at Stardom’s dojo... (not too dissimilar to how Utami broke into Stardom for reference).breaking into puroresuAs stated in the previous entry, Nao would begin training in the Stardom Dojo once they finished her education, you'd think it'd be smooth sailing going forward...well, life doesn't do what you want most of the time so just as Nao was getting used to taking bumps and running the ropes, an "old friend" appeared... to no-one's surprise it was Emi. Seeing the person that made her later years in high-school a living hell again was... as to be expected a rather disappointing experience as it meant they'd be forever tied together in history by being apart of the same dojo class. As the days turned into months, as the months turned into a year. The two trained, occasionally taking liberties with hair grabbing, stiff kicks, palm strikes to the ears. It was apparent that Emi and Nao were like night and day...Ying and Yang one can't live without the other, even if they hated the idea...
